Bexar County Real Estate 

Bexar County,  Texas is a land-MASS! It is made up of 1248 square miles, with differences in altitudes of from 600 ft to 1200ft.  It is part of the interior of the Coastal Plain of South Central Texas. The Balcones Escarpment crosses it.  To the northwest of the Escarpment is the Edwards Plateau. This area is known for its’ many underground wells and springs. The area includes the San Antonio Rivers and the San Pedro Creek, each of which feeds the springs and underground wells. Smaller rivers and streams run through the county fed by the San Antonio River, which flows into them.  Some of the rivers and streams of Bexar County include the Medio, Salado, Leon,  Medina and Cibolo Creek.

The Lands of the Bexar County vary greatly.  There are the rolling hills within the northern portion of the county, whose soils are alkaline and limestone.   Glenrose Hills lies at the highest elevations,  within the northwest section of the county.  There are rolling hills, plateaus, prairie lands, and plains all within the Bexar County region. Vegetations of the county vary widely.  Soil bases and subsoils of each area of the county differ greatly as well. From thorny bushes and cacti to live oak and juniper There are mineral resources within the county lands, that include things like limestone, greensand, petroleum, clay, natural gas, and sulfur springs. Bexar County Texas is a place of history filled “old western tales” of cattle drives, wagon trains, railway beginnings, oil discoveries, manufacturing plants, breweries, dairy farms, crop farms, cattle ranchers, immigrants, civil wars, military training bases, cotton fields, as well as indigenous wars.  By the 20 century, Bexar County had become a place many call home.  Non-farming incomes rose to over 9 billion in total earnings within the county. The Labor force of the county had changed to include professionals, industries like construction, lumber mills, steel mills, print companies, banks, bottling companies, breweries, gas and oil, pharmaceuticals, clothing manufacturers, electronics and so much more.

As of 2002 the ranches and farms totaled 2385 within Bexar County. They covered over 441,000 acres. Approximately half of these acres were just for pasture lands. Only 35 percent was actually for crops.  The crop sales by 2002 had reached earnings of just under 60 million dollars, while the ranchers and farmers had earned a total of just over 80 million dollars. By 2002 the main crops in the county included vegetables, nursery crops, hay, beef cattle, grain, sorghum, peanuts, grain,  and corn.
