Guadalupe County Real Estate 

Guadalupe County Texas is a county in the metro statistic area of San Antonio Texas. The population of the county was near 150,000 in Dec of 2017.  Guadalupe is considered the 3rd largest populated county in the area. According to recent statistics, the county still maintains it’s Republican majority in its’ voting practices overall.  Approximately 1/4 of all the residents of the county are currently under the age of 18.  There are 3 Independent School Districts in Guadalupe County.  For advanced education, there is the Texas Lutheran University. The University was ranked by U.S. News and World Report in 2013 as #3 of the Best West Regional Universities.  The average income within the county js approximately  45,000.

Cities within the county, which are actually parts of multiple counties include;  Cibolo, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Schertz, Selma, Universal City.  Additional cities within the county include these as well;  Marion, New Berlin, Kingsbury, Santa Clara, Staples, and the county seat- Sequin.

Unincorporated communities within the county are; Clear Springs, Barborosa, Zorn, Schumansville.  The county has it’s own Ghost Town known as Concrete.  All that is left of the actual ghost town is the cemetery.

Those who would like to play tourist for a day or a weekend will find that Guadalupe County is filled with many Historic Places.  There are at least 18 locations listed as Texas Historic Landmarks. Included within the Landmarks, are the Sweet Home Vocational and Agricultural School, Sebastopol, Humphrey House, Los Nogales, and George Francis Home Dublin Plantation.

Seguin, a small town approximately 40 miles from San Antonio brings outdoor fun to life.  The Max Starcke Park Wave Pool is here. There are seasonal passes for those who feel they will be visiting often. There are also swimming lessons, and water aerobics offered at the water park.

Lake Seguin is a great place to relax the day away on the water.  Recreation is not in short supply, as individuals, groups, and families gather, and take to the waters, in Kayaks, and canoes.  The recreational park also has rentals available.

For those looking for rest and relaxation with a little competition off of the waters, why not stop by the Max Starcke Park Golf Course.  The greens are magnificent, and the 18 holes are run along the beauty of the Guadalupe River.

For those looking for time to reflect, the perfect spot is located at the Walnut Springs Park.  This park runs along a smaller channel of the Guadalupe River. The serene feel of the park is one to experience.  Jogging, walking, biking, this park is sure to cleanse the body of the daily stresses of life.  Bring your camera because the bird wildlife here is amazing! Cardinals to Herons, Red-Tailed Hawks, and occasional Golden Eagles each have been spotted enjoying the day in this quiet oasis.

Another gem within the Guadalupe County area is Lake Placid.  During the summer months daily there is a wooden footbridge open daily which will take you to a hidden paradise.  Son’s Island on Lake Placid is just over 3 acres of sanctuary bliss.  It is a recreation area on the Lake that includes paddle boarding, boating, a water slide, kayaking, fishing, swimming, swing rope, picnic areas, bbq pits, electricity, and barstools.  The feel here is definitely one of being on a hidden tropical island.
